SINGING AT THE GAME

GIRLS we have been invited to do our first “outside of the swimming community” performance tomorrow, Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the  Staples Boys Home Basketball game. Be at the Gym at 6:45. You can wear something White or something Blue. Why don’t you figure out from our different team outfits what would work. Hope to see you there…in voice.

Parking Restricted at SCSU for LL Championship

Parents:

CIAC informs us that the parking lot to the left of the SCSU fieldhouse has been torn up to make room for a new six level parking garage. It will not be available for bus or car parking. You may want to leave a little earlier than originally planned because parking could prove to be a problem.

We checked with the aquatics office at Southern and they suggested that we park near Farnham Hall. It’s building number 24 on the PDF Map. It seems to be a lot smaller than the old parking lot.

LL Finals Warm-up and Bus

We will have a 2:00 PM early dismissal for the 11 girls swimming in State Finals on Thursday, so that we can warm up here before we we leave and eliminate the short crowded situation we had at State trials last Saturday.
The bus is scheduled for 3:15 so we should have an hour in the pool before we have to leave, and all the other girls can be there to cheer/support.

Dual Meet Added to Schedule

We have added a dual meet to the schedule. The JV team and varsity swimmers, who have not made state cuts, will swim at Pomparaug High School this Wednesday at 5pm. Bus leaves at 3:15 pm. Warmup at 4:00pm.

Practice at 2:45 tomorrow for all.

FCIAC Championship Schedule

There was some confusion last night about the 2011 FCIAC girls swimming championship schedule after the FCIAC and CIAC posted conflicting information. The conflict has been resolved and Coach Laux has confirmed the following changes:

The varsity swimming trials will be held at Greenwich High School at 4:00 pm on Thursday, November 3.

The varsity swimming finals will be held at Greenwich High School at 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 5.

The diving championship will be at Westhill High School at 5:00 pm on Friday, November 4.

The JV swimming championship did not change. It will be at Norwalk High School at 4:00 pm on Friday, November 4.

 

FCIACs Postponed

The varsity FCIAC swimming championships have been postponed. Varsity trials will be held on Thursday at Greenwich High School. There is still some confusion as to whether finals will be held on Saturday or Sunday. We will communicate the information as soon as we know.

FCIAC did not change the schedule for diving trials and finals or the JV championship.

Ridgefield Meet

We have no practice on Thursday, so our last practice before Ridgefield is tomorrow.
Please be on time and ready to go.

Friday (9/16) Meet Now In East Lyme

Fairfield Ludlowe cancelled our varsity meet on Friday (9/16), which was scheduled to be held at Staples High School. We now are competing against East Lyme in East Lyme at 3:30 pm. The bus will leave Staples at 1:30 pm.
